Join us to celebrate the end of the school year with music by Cabildo at Tip Top Deluxe! There will be dancing and drinks, with the cost of entry going toward supporting students and families at West Elementary. This event is family friendly, so bring the kids for a chance to play some drums and enjoy the music with you!
Admission: $10 for adults, $5 for children
Julio Cano Villalobos, of Cabildo, has volunteered with Erika VanDyke, the KSSN community school coordinator at West Elementary in Wyoming Public Schools. After a recent visit to the school, Julio was inspired to hold a Cabildo fundraising concert to support the programming KSSN facilitates for the students and families at West. We will be raising money to jump start the creation of a sensory room at West next year, as well as support our family emergency fund. Students can use things like balls, swings, weighted items, rocking chairs, crash mats, small manipulatives, and more to engage in safe movement that helps them relax and refocus their bodies and minds. Brief breaks in the sensory room allow the kids who need them to concentrate for longer periods of time in the classroom, and can often help them make better behavior choices over the course of the day. We’re so grateful to Cabildo for helping us support this important work. Check out their music at

More information for partners:
The Kent School Services Network (KSSN) is a nonprofit that follows the community school model– the idea that if we put mental health, physical health, and social services directly into the school building, it will decrease barriers to education, and result in improved school and community level outcomes. Community school coordinators in each KSSN building are responsible for partnering with local non-profits, businesses, and other groups to bring resources for families and staff at the school. If you are interested in supporting this work or have further questions, contact Erika VanDyke by email vandyke@wyomingps.org or phone at 616-648-6079.
